What every filing shows
Most trackers show a ticker and a headline. The details they leave out are the ones that decide whether a filing is worth acting on.
Trade date and disclosure lag
Members have up to 45 days to report a trade, and some report far later. Every filing shows how many days passed and flags old ones, so a months-old trade never looks like news.
Whose account it was
Many filings are for a spouse's or a child's account rather than the member's own. We show which, instead of implying the member traded it personally.
The disclosed amount
Filings report a dollar range, not an exact figure. We show the range midpoint and label it as approximate.
A link to the filing
Each filing links back to its public source, so you can check it yourself.
Who we track
The most active filers, chosen by how often they actually trade rather than how famous they are. More members are added as they file.
On the leaderboard, tagged Estimated
Tracked politicians rank on the RelayTrades leaderboard next to members, with an Estimated tag on every row. Their scores come from public filings, not broker accounts, and the two are never mixed.
- Each trade is priced at the split-adjusted market close on its trade date and marked to the latest price.
- Option purchases, option exercises and gifted shares are left out, because their real cost is not disclosed.
- Every profile shows estimated monthly and all-time P&L, win rate, open positions and recently closed trades.
- Members' broker-verified records stay exactly that. An estimate never earns a verified badge.
Why politician trades are never copied
Copy trading acts on a trade the moment it happens. A disclosure can arrive weeks after the trade, at a price that no longer exists, so politician filings are never sent to anyone's broker automatically. When one interests you, you can place the trade yourself in your own connected account.
Also in your feed: traders on X
Selected options traders on X are tracked the same way. Their posts appear in your feed within about a minute, promotional posts are filtered out, and calls that name a complete contract are scored on the leaderboard as Estimated, at the price they posted. You can subscribe to have those calls copied into your own broker, automatically or with your approval, under the same risk limits as any other strategy.
